How to design a restaurant interior to improve customer experience

The interior of a restaurant plays a key role in setting the tone and keeping customers comfortable. Getting this wrong can be detrimental to your restaurant’s livelihood. No matter how tasty your food is or how charming your staff are customers will still leave unsatisfied if your environment feels hostile. Style –

Style is a very personal thing, so finding a style that represents your business is important.

Having a strong colour theme can provide comfort to customers due to the continuity throughout. This is because the customers know what to expect and are put at ease by this. Researching the relationship between colour and mood can help you decide on what colours to include to encourage your desired atmosphere. It is important that your colour theme is incorporated into an interesting design this is to keep customers engaged with their surroundings. Adding a variation of levels, geometrics, dynamics, and lighting are a few ways to easily achieve this.

Comfort –

Finding a suitable level of comfort should be considered a priority as you don’t want your customers to be focused on this factor. Ideally with seating you want a good middle point where it is comfortable and supportive, so your customers aren’t encouraged to leave due to poor seating. Along with this you want to ensure that your seating, on average, would put your customer in a comfortable position in relation to the table. In terms of lighting, you want to make sure it’s not too harsh as this can prevent customers from relaxing and make them feel more vulnerable.


Trends –

Trends are constantly changing, trying to keep up with most influential ones will be beneficial to your restaurant. Trends that are likely to effect interior would be environmental factors that should be considered in the production of your furniture, general design trends, layouts, décor features etc
